Anthony Botting

Anthony Botting has been playing in bands and writing songs all his life. He won a Niagara Music Award for his solo project A BOOK FOR WANDERERS. He has been fortunate enough to meet and share a stage with many of his heroes, including Green Day, The Deftones and The Eagles of Death Metal.
Anthony is extremely passionate, focused and driven. He got the ball rolling for the Cocktails when he started writing what would become “VIVA LA JUICY” and brought it to Matt Keighan’s studio. Matt got so excited by Anthony’s songs that they formed the band then and there. Keighan’s drumming and Anthony’s singing and guitar playing formed the backbone of the record. Additional guitars were performed by Jeffro Freimanis and Robby Jackman. Anthony played the bass guitar on VIVA as well. When it came time to find a bass player he reached out to Rod Standish, who had played bass in A Book For Wanderers previously. Anthony likes to share his passion for music with his best friends.
After the making of VIVA, Jeffro left the group. Jackman took his leave during the making of “YIPPEE FxxxIN’ HURRAY”. The current lineup of the Cocktails arose out of the power of Anthony Botting’s writing and his drive to not only fashion those songs into their best incarnation, but also to have them performed live, by the people who can best deliver that idealized form. The trust he has in his bandmates is evident, as he opens the writing up to the rest of the band, despite his great ability. Matt and Rod happily rise to the occasion, and the three of them cement their friendship in musical collaboration.
When Anthony is on stage it seems like he was destined to be performing in front of a crowd, but he’s also a hard-working family man and father.
